All Island Home Inspections

About Us

We are professionals with over 40 years of experience in the area of building, remodeling and inspecting of residential and commercial properties. We understand that for many people, buying a home is the biggest single investment they will ever make. Not only that, but for most people a home is much more than just an investment: it is a part of themselves and their family. Ensuring that the home you desire is the right choice is a huge part of what we at All Island Home Inspections do. Imagine for a moment that the home you just bought has a leaky roof and during the first rainstorm a collection of family heirlooms or photos is ruined. Or imagine that faulty wiring causes a fire while you are away, but your beloved pet isn’t. Our inspectors help spot problems before they occur.

This report makes it easy to reference specific items if questions arise about the home inspection.

Residential Home Inspections

A home inspection isn’t just about protecting your investment, but also about protecting you and your family. The home inspectors at All Island Home Inspections understand this and take their profession very seriously. They know they are an integral part in your decision to make the biggest investment of your life. Though not mandatory in every state and province in North America, a residential home inspection should be a part of every real estate transaction. It is the best way to ensure that everyone is protected.

Pre-sale home inspections

Home inspections aren’t just for home buyers. Home sellers also gain peace of mind by investing in a thorough home inspection prior to putting a house up for sale. The last minute discovery of problems by a prospective buyer can lead to time delays, added expenses and can even derail a deal altogether. Your best solution as a home seller is to have a thorough inspection done prior to putting the house on the market. This allows you to take care of issues with the building before they become a problem in negotiating a deal.

Look at what a home inspection from All Island Home Inspections can do for you:

  • Facilitate a faster sale for more money
  • Eliminate last minute fall throughs or 11th hour re-negotiations
  • Be aware of existing issues, giving you the chance to address them now with competitive pricing
  • Protect yourself from over-inflated buyer procured estimates
  • We work with you on the final report if there are items you wish to repair
  • We can provide copies of our summary page for your open house handouts
  • Reduce your liability with full disclosure
  • Provides purchasers the comfort of an unbiased 3rd party opinion
  • You can assist the inspector during the inspection, unlike the purchaser's inspection

Commercial Building Inspections

Whether your buying a commercial property or in Building Management/Maintenance a thorough commercial building inspection by AIHI is essential. An AIHI Commercial Building inspection is able to evaluate and maintain building standards by identifying small problems from becoming large problems.

This includes:

  • Roof
  • Foundation
  • Windows
  • Heating/cooling system
  • Electrical
  • Plumbing
  • Drive/parking areas
  • Lot and grounds
  • And more

Inspections can be customized to highlight High Risk Components for Building Management/Maintenance or for each Individual Unit Owners

Renovation Deficiency Inspections

Doing Home Renovations? Use All Island Home Inspections and protect yourself!

You’ve watched those shows on TV and know the nightmares that can arise from home renovations when done improperly. Sub-standard materials, poor workmanship or jobs left unfinished. To the untrained eye it can be difficult to know if you are getting your money’s worth.

Protect yourself! AIHI can assess a renovation job near completion to make sure everything is being done correctly. This can save you time, money and a world of grief if your contractor isn’t completing your renovations properly. Before you make that final payment, make sure!

Home Maintenance Inspections

During the course of our busy everyday lives we can often overlook some very important things. This is never more true than with general household maintenance. Aside from being the place where you hang your hat, a home is also a very valuable investment. Failure to maintain it properly can damage your home and downgrade its value.

A home maintenance inspection by AIHI will identify those areas and aspects of your home that need attention. This will include:
  • Roof
  • Gutters and Downspouts
  • Electrical
  • Smoke detectors and other safety equipment
  • Plumbing and faucets
  • Windows and doors
  • Retaining walls
Our inspection will provide you with three complete lists:
  • Required Items (problems that require immediate attention)
  • Deferred Items (things that should be dealt with soon)
  • Future Maintenance Items (things that should be noted, but are not urgent)

New Home Warranty Inspection Services

Make sure you have AIHI look at your home before your new home warranty expires. AIHI inspector will examine your home’s structure, mechanical and electrical systems to identify defects and other problems before they become your problems.

Most new homes come with a standard one year warranty against building materials and workmanship. Unfortunately, problems often occur after the warranty has expired. Such problems can be a real nightmare. Don’t let a contractor’s mistakes or negligence make your life miserable: protect yourself and your investment! Have an experienced home inspector make sure that your home was built to code and to standard.
